Supporting Grieving Students: All Staff Training
The Grief Club of Minnesota, in partnership with Eastern Carver County School District, will host two impactful trainings focused on supporting grieving students. This is an opportunity for school staff to build practical skills and confidence in helping students navigate grief.
Who should attend:
K–12 school staff—including teachers, administrators, counselors, social workers, and anyone supporting student well-being.
What to expect:
A practical, interactive training designed to deepen understanding of how grief impacts students and how to respond with compassion and confidence. Participants will leave with tools, language, and strategies to support students academically, socially, and emotionally.
The trainings are led by founders Sarah Kroenke and Cara Mearns-Thompson, pioneers in school-based grief support. Together, they bring over 50 years of combined experience in bereavement, including decades of work in K–12 schools developing grief support programs, leading crisis response teams, and training professionals locally and nationally.
